Allan Peterson

PHASE TRANSITION

The house will be there bruised by dusk

a moon added for realism

Particles will pass through me fractions of light

songs through me pictures from space

though I sit quietly by the window

watching sharp-shins scatter the nuthatches

waiting for night to pick up the dark jacket

it threw against the hills
