TWO NOTES ON A PIANO

preserved undiluted light now barely-touched

reminiscent of dust floating fuguelike up and up

and now down-fingered apace declining in repose

two notes on a piano bracketed by forgetting

degrading over a length of tape or sinuous rope

stitched together…two notes only an oath
