Nina Lindsay

THE END OF AUGUST

We were the guilty ones, in our house.

The stars loved us, anyway.

And the tarnish over all was golden-flecked,

it was day and night, the world’s garbled treasure, all of it.

Nina Lindsay is the author of two collections of poetry, Because and Today's Special Dish. Her work has appeared in the Colorado Review, Fence, the Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, Third Coast and many other journals, and has received a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg prize.
