London Gray

The Living Envy the Dead and the Dead Envy the Living,

so I walk barefoot over the graveyard. I wrote my heart into rolled up sleeves and I threw my thoughts in the bag with my shoes. My steps are a silent eulogy beating into raw earth. Below there is noise. I want to throw out the crumbling teddy bears, wilting bouquets brought by drunk aunts and distant relatives. They don’t really have to worry. Not the way you do. You are haunted like the house. My mind is made of roots that won’t stop growing. I cut them with kitchen scissors; I still don't know what feeling feels like.
