Suhjung Kim
In the scratching
Kiss of twilight,
the mirror cradles my gaze,
each breath morphing
its silvered surface.
I linger in the nook
of each undulation,
where edges melted into doubt
and curves glean
assurance.
Ten fingers,
ten toes,
is this me?
Truth coils like smoke,
a beer belly
in a leotard,
hiding in the creases
of draped darkness,
daring me to look
closer,
closer.
What lives
beneath my skin?
the etches of light
scrape the sky,
shatter,
and rain scar
my toes.
